Interesting. I prefer the second, although I don't like the glass on the right: it's intrusive and, IMHO, unnecessary.

That was my initial reaction but I decided to keep it the way it is, I thought I can add a little context. I'll try a version without it.

I also like the second photo. I'm not bothered at all by the glass but removing it wouldn't be too hard anyway.

I agree about the context. It stops the eye from exiting right and I like the muted colours.
