Title: Seaside moments
Post by: Paulo Bizarro on March 24, 2015, 05:30:43 am
Some photos taken in the beach near my home, one recent early morning. Looking for layers, patterns, and flow.

Regards.

Very nice especially the first two photos. I like the sense of brisk motion of the second one.
Once again, your photos show that waking early is worth it.

I like 2 the best. The colour contrast in 1 is good but my preference would be for a more static composition, as in 2. The curve doesn't seem to contribute, IMO.

Paulo
I like #2
#1 looks a little strange, to me. The very hard line between the sky and the water contrasts strangely with the very soft transition from the water to the beach. I also find it difficult to get my eyes to move from the very bright beach.
Hope this helps.

+1 Exactly what I thought.

The 2nd is really well done.

I especially like the first two.  The second seems to drag me into the sea!  Nice images, well done.

#1 is absolutely incredible for me.  It's the perfect design element for any number of editorials, covers, promotions, etc.

Thanks all for the feedback.

Regarding #1, it was taken before sunrise, it is a 2 minute exposure, I was hoping for a three colour layer. IMHO, the curved line gives it a bit more dynamic, resulting in a less static image.

As for #2, I took a series of shots, getting my feet wet in the process. This worked the best, as the water was receding, creating these streaks.

Kind regards.

My initial impression was that #2 was the strongest, but the more I look at #1, the more it grows on me.

Agreed. #1 is outstanding as a study in color contrast.   Really hits the spot for me.
