It was thick as the proverbial Pea Soup this morning...

I like this simple, yet mysterious image.

I think two days ago I could not have made this exposure as easily as I did yesterday as I discovered through a tip, a suggestion Nikon makes regarding the D810 metering. It is called Matrix Highlighting Mode and it does remarkably well in controlling high whites in an image.

Try it...you'll like it!

Very fine image, Chris.
Are you giving Nikon all the credit for it? I somehow suspect the guy behind the camera did his part pretty well, too.

No, but Nikon was a nice assistant. :-)

And this was the moon rise over grumpy cats house.  Grumpy cat also hates your stick figure family.

I have to admit to absolute bafflement as to what your post means, Murph...it is a sun in the fog not a moon rising anywhere...

Oh, well it looked to me like a frowning face.  Regardless of moon or sun.  Reminded me of a bumper sticker I saw on a car with a picture of "Grumpy Cat" and the text: Grumpy cat hates your stick figure family.
