I am considering this camera and wondered what cards are recommended, both for stills and video. I may shoot in colder temps and wondered if that affects the choice. Reliability is essential. Thanks!

It's always helpful to provide enough information for people to help you. First, this takes SD cards. Since you popped in video, I would suggest at least a Class 10 or UHS 1 card. I generally prefer Lexar and Sandisk cards. For SD cards, I use the 95mb/s Sandisk Extreme Pro in my D7100 and Lexar Professional 600X in my D810. There are military/commercial cards that are more durable and rated to operate at more extreme temperatures if you need. They are also more reliable.

Thank you! I had no idea if there was a minimum transfer rate to be useful for video.
