Title: Wood Lily
Post by: DanPBrown on February 02, 2015, 05:26:23 pm
Howdy all. This photo was accidentally overexposed. I liked the look and went with it.
Shot with a 1dsmk3 and Olympus 90mm f/2 macro.

For me there is too much out of focus.

I'm with louoates, I would prefer to have the front-most petal in-focus. The rest of the image is fantastic!

I agree, the colors are spectacular. If this were my photo, I think I'd try an iris blur filter to blur everything, except the stamens, a bit more. This would give a stronger center to the image, and allow one's eye to start there and then move to other parts. Either that or retake the shot getting more petals in focus. Just my rambling thoughts...

Thanks for the input everyone. I will have to see what other photos I have that were taken at a tighter aperture.

Nothing is focused (I like "almost-artistic-macro" with a little portion of focused subject, but here....).
I am also disturbed by so evident watermarks. Good subject and composition.
all the best,
