Title: Calibrating MacBook Pro always gives a Luminance value of 100

I am using BasicColor Display and a x-rite DTP94 puck to calibrate my new 2014 15 inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display. I've tried setting a target Luminance value of 110, 140, and Max, and no matter what value I plug in it comes up with an achieved level of 100. The monitor brightness prior to calibrating is set to maximum in Mac Settings/Displays/Display/Brightness and adjust color is turned off. What gives? Why is it only allowing an achieved level of 100? Thanks!!

Two possibilities come to mind. Bug in software. Or 100cd/m2 is the max this display can produce.

You need to use the Mac's Brightness control to get the monitor to the desired level.

The 'Measure' button in the software on the Advanced Settings->Luminance page will iteratively help you get there.

BasICColor can be less that obvious in it's usage

Make sure you have turned off the adjust brightness of the display automatically in the display settings.
I use Basiccolor on my rMBP and have no problems achieving 120cd/m2
