I would like an opinion on this tree, because I'm not very convinced of the point of shooting, even though I tried to align the x of the ground with the tree

It's striking, but not especially engaging. The harshness puts it outside the range of imagery most people would find attractive, so its only chance at fame is as an abstract. It reminds of the high contrast paradigms of photography in the 60s, when Brovira #'s 5 and 6 made us all a little crazy. A print of this would be a hard sell, which unfortunately is how I am compelled to evaluate imagery these days. But it would fly well at the photo club and with people into photography, which as a group are the worst art buying tightwads on the planet. Have you tried interpretations with more tonal range?

I find that the "X" ends up distracting from the tree.

I like the repeating contrasts, and I agree it might not be a best-seller.

very interesting your explanation, in the next few days I will try to use more tonal range.

I absolutely love Bill T's commentary on this one - both insightful and artfully written.
I react similar, but different: I find it creative and engaging (engaging in the sense that it is unusual, and it creates a sort of foreground/ background tension that draws me into me into the image, causing my mind to want to resolve the tension in some way, but yet being unable to do so). But I also find it somewhat unaesthetic.
Thanks for posting.
