Intrigued by this paper but I've never printed on anything heavier than 300ish gsm on my z3200. This stuff is 450gsm, 455microns/.018" thick, anyone tried it or anything similar? Just a bit concerned about feed problems, maybe roller marks etc.

I have it and tried it. Head strikes on my Z3200 ps 44".
Still have a full box - 1 sheet missing.
Don't do it....

I think the max z3200 claims is 0.8 millimeters
if one day they repave your street there is a chance to toss it in front of the paver?

Knowing a bit about your work Mark, I wouldn't be surprised if you were serious!!!
On a positive note from NOT being able to use that paper.... I just received the LPS belt!
These things are pretty thin! The belt in the machine had either weathered to a dusty shade of lighter gray, or accumulated dust on it from the papers/coatings flaking off in micro particles....
I noticed how dark it is when wiping the old belt. The new belt is even darker. It looks as if its lubed up with some very thin coat of something. Likely best not to handle it with oil sucking/depositing hands.
Lps sent a link to the service manual of 440 pages! The one I had before was 393 pages. The LPS version of the manual adds a good amount of additional diagrams on Troubleshooting print quality(glancing through it).
So that should be an interesting read....
Honestly, I'm at a toss up of really reading this stuff, If it were my first inkjet, yes, I would have the interest....VS, just letting a service tech come in and do his/her thing and replace the parts. I know to lube it, and leave the machine on, and not put paper thats as thick as a pancake through it :-)...
but unless there is a list of preventative measures, cleanings of specifics/intervals we should know.... I plan on dealing with things as they may arise(hoping it is minimal).
That video off your repair link to Bryan does make me want to do it :-)
I know from here that the Epson cleaning wipe blade should be inspected and cleaned every 2-3 months or so, and replaced after a 2-3 years etc. Not turning off the Epson, and at least ones a week have some print that fires all heads to keep them primed and wet. Anything like that about this beast would also be great.
*It would be nice to have a sub-directory under the Printers for the three brands and some sticky info with maintenance to keep info well logged and always have a easy point of reference to go to.

With all due respect to the OP, not intending to hijack the thread,
I really don't want to get into repairing epson printers, Phil. Bryan's video is absolutely a gem, without it, none of us would have had the guts to dive in. That being said, be aware that his video covers dissasenly and very little on re-assembly. Easy to take apart, not as easy to put back together. A service tech would probably charge less then if looking at a pile of parts where "you helped."
If you can afford the time and you're pretty sure you can handle it, then jump out there- it might be fun....
