Title: What is your take on processing these image?
Post by: ErikKaffehr on December 27, 2014, 02:53:36 pm
Hi,

This picture has been stitched from five images. There has been significant manipulation of colour, mainly different colour temperatures at the top and at the bottom using graduated filters in Lightroom. Do you feel it is overprocessed?

Best regards
Erik

It looks very natural to me, except for a magenta cast on the snow in the foreground - but I have not been at the scene...
Happy new year!

It looks very good to me, apart from a slightly odd colour cast to the snow in the foreground.

Magenta snow. Other than that, lovely!

Beautiful scene.  Was it possible to get down a little such that the lamp could have been placed just above the horizon line?

Hi Rajan,

Next time I get there I will try your suggestion. That place is close to where I live, 15 minutes by car and 15 minutes on foot.

Best regards
Erik

... other than the snow in the foreground, very nice post processing. You've done the heavy lifting; tweaking the snow will be trivial. Or if you don't want to tweak the snow, put a little magenta into the sky.

Highlighted snow in foreground is red-magenta IMO, but best move would be to crop the left (leaving the single island).

IMO.

Doesn't look over processed to me - it's a nice shot.

For my tastes, it has been overprocessed - but skillfully and just a little! I wonder if the lighthouse and perhaps the snow could be a bit lighter - and also a bit whiter? You'd have to try these ideas and see how you like them. Nice photo!.
