I want to create a custom sapect ration for use wiht the crop tool.
7.375 x 9.375 inches.
LR will not save this --how can I make it do so?

You could make a custom aspect ratio of 9.375:7.375, which is 1.27:1, in LR without any issues.
What you cannot do in LR is use inches to define aspect ratios or crops. You cannot specify physical units in LR except in the export or print areas. An aspect ratio doesn't depend on physical units anyway.

The last four custom crops remain in the aspect ratio memory until they are crowded out by new arrivals.
Crops cannot be included in presets, but they can be copied or synced from one file to others. You could apply the crop to an image and put it into a collection called, say, "Custom Crop". Then whenever you want to use that crop drag photos into the collection, select all of them with the cropped file as most selected, and sync the crop.

Atached is a screen shot of my aspect rataio window. After I enter the numbers only, no units, and then hit ENTER, nothing happens. Nothing is remembered. I have read that the list can have 5 items. when one adds a sixth, the top one is removed--this is not happening either.
ANy suggestions?

Nothing happens because you already have it in your Custom list.
Hint: 11x14 has the ratio (1.2727) that is practically the same as the one you need (1.2712). For Lightroom, it is the same ratio.
