I don't know how many threads I've seen by now about Peter Lik's Phantom (on other forums as well). I got really inspired by that photo, however, it's been snowing here all day here, and there are no photogenic canyons around.
Short of venturing out into a really bad weather, I found a photo taken in a similar snow storm last year right on my street and ran it through a one-click Topaz Impression plugin. Instead of canyon walls, I had to work with only a meter-high snow bank, but I got two phantoms. Not just standing, but moving towards me! Coming from work or supermarket.

I'll take $100 for that master piece.

Nicely done, Les.

Thank you very much, Terry

Man, I hope that guy from the Guardian doesn't see this.

PICTORIALISM LIVES!

You're aiming way too low! :D
Nice shot by the way, much more original than the other "phantom".

Thank you, Francois! I worried about the low price tag, I was really torn how to price it. But I'm making it available for masses and aiming for a limited edition of 5000.
Talking about pictorialism! I got carried away, and processed it in two more renditions. Glowing Images (https://advantica.wordpress.com/2014/12/10/topaz-glow/)

The whole thing is like inside trading, as Baudrillard puts it back in the 80s. If one really wants to attain seven-figure per print, he needs to have a team of highest paid sales professionals and accolades from curators from the most prestigious museums, such as Peter Galassi in his days.

"I am suggesting that the price paid for a work of art becomes its absolute and authoritative value, even if the value the price implies is not particularly clear. It is presented without explanation -- the price is the explanation."
"Thus art has become a venue for the exhibition of money."
