I create icc profiles for use with my Epson7900 printer using an i1PhotoPro2 and i1Profiler. - I'm creating a profile for a paper with some OBA
- In the workflow selection I select "Profiling" (I DO NOT select OBC Profiling)
- The patchset is generated with the desired amount of patches and it is printed on the paper I'm creating the profile for
- The paper has OBA
- In the measurement I select "Dual Scan (M0, M1, M2 & OBC) and scan the patches
- I set the lighting conditions - "Standard Illuminants", CIE Illuminant D50
- I set the profile settings and the icc profile is then generated.
My question...
1. Does the icc profiler take into account the OBA content of the paper since I used "Dual Scan"
2. Or, do I need to select "OBC" profiling in the workflow section and the dual scan doesn't serve any purpose if you don't select "OBC profiling".

Yes and no. When creating a profile after measuremet is done hou nee toch choke for the illuminant condition m0 or m1 (or m2). This choke determineren hoe is dealt with OBA effect.

but basically, #2 is correct. Unless you follow the OBA workflow, the profile will not be 'corrected' even though the dual scan captured the UV response of the paper. Also keep in mind that even if a paper has some OBA in them, unless it's excited by an appropriate light source, it's not going to meaningfully floresce (sp?).
Others can speak more knowledgeably than I can as this is a very dark & murky corner of printing
