TOKINA AT-X 80-200 f2.8. $145. This is a solidly-constructed workhorse of a lens, one you'll appreciate more every time you pixel peep your digital files. (NOTE: this is a MANUAL focus lens, and it does not have the tripod foot, removed for weight reduction and compactness.) Recently, I spent five sessions photographing wood ducks on a pond near my home. The images from this lens turned out crisp and vibrant, with excellent color cast and contrast. A feature I really like is this lens can be zoomed and focused with one hand. The push-pull zoom is smooth and tight, and the knurled rubber focus ring is sure and precise. There are no dings, scratches or blemishes to be found. It looks great. I have two 80-200 f2.8 zooms, so I'm simplifying my kit. If new, a comparable lens would cost 6-7 times more. This would be a good choice for filling in a focal range gap at a very affordable investment. Front and rear caps are included. Shipping is FREE within the lower 48 states.
