I love owls. Is that fill flash on the owl? Was this a captive specimen? Regardless such a beautiful creature... I've definitely got to spend more time trying to capture these creatures. I hear there are burrowing owls around the bay area here, and it's a new mission for sure.

I think your photos are a testament to the 7D and 7DMKII, to all those naysayers that keep bashing the camera and Canon.
It just shows that in competent hands, it delivers.
