Image made in Joshua Tree NP in the Cholla Gardens. I spent a couple of days in Palm Desert recently and got up early enough one morning to drive to the Cholla Gardens in time for sunrise. Luckily, the sunrise also had clouds and some good color. We don't often get colorful sunrises with clouds in the desert. Had the place all to my self for about an hour and managed not to get jabbed by any cholla's, so it was a pretty good morning. Hope you enjoy the image and any ideas, comments, suggestions, are welcome. Thanks for looking.
This is a blend of two exposures. Images made with a Fuji X-E1, 18-55 @27mm, f/16 and manual exposure.

Nicely done. I thought I'd escaped without being speared by a cholla until I was driving home and noticed something seemed to be attached to my shoe. I reached down to remove it and swore. Loudly.

Thanks for all of the comments. I have been happy with the way this image turned out. I am planning another trip to Joshua Tree this spring with the deserts starts to bloom
