I had one many years ago, 2 small flash units that were held to either side of the camera on adjustable arms. With proper setup, I could get very natural looking light while maintaining good DOF. I want a setup that is not tied to a particular camera brand because I shoot Olympus and Nikon. Any ideas?

I bought a pair of articulated arms on a 1/4" female insertion that should have worked well. But it was so cheaply made in Asia that it was useless
I use two inexpensive tripods and mount the flask units by their included bases.

Hi Peter,
Maybe something like this (http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/551443-REG/Manfrotto_330B_330B_Macro_Flash_Bracket.html)?
Cheers,

Cool Bart
the "problem" with all of those is that they limit your options
what I like about the two cheap tripods is the absolute versatility of distance and angle.
but a couple of those are cool... some quite expensive I might add!
