Can anyone help please.
I am trying to print on 5x7 paper (which I rarely do). I can set the paper size to 5x7 and that is what shows in the top left of the main window in the Print module. However, the printer refuses to "remember" the size, and keeps reverting back to A4 before printing, with the result that I get a small part of the image on the 5x7 paper. This actually happens whichever dialogue I use to try and set paper size.
(I think had this problem once before, but unfortunately can't remember how I finally resolved it. )
I am running Lightroom 5.5 under Windows 7 64 bit. The printer is a Canon ip4600 and the printer drivers are included with Windows (so there is no separate downloadable driver)
Thanks for any assistance,
Dave

First set the paper size in the Printer Driver (big button that says [Page Setup…] at the bottom of the Left-hand set of panels). If your printer has a borderless setting and you want borderless printing you would need to activate it as well in the Print Driver. Now, Lightroom is aware and using the same size as your printer.
Now that paper is set, let's look at your image. Lightroom should now show you correct dimensions in the Layout Panel (Right-hand side). Set the margins to be 0 for borderless or whatever value you desire if not borderless. Set the Cell size to maximum dimensions. Print.

Hi Rikki,
Thanks for the suggestion. That's actually what I did, but it doesn't work.
To give a specific example:
Select "Custom Package"
With no images in the Preview Pane, the only printer dialogue button available is "Page Setup" so press that
Then change the paper size to 5x7.
The main window now says the paper size is 5x7
BUT the Preview is still showing an A4 size (it's easy to test this by adding a cell of known size to the package)
Grrr

Not here. Using your steps, I add a 5x7 Cell to the Page and it fills the page.
1. Are you using any user-created templates? Sometimes, templates, especially those from previous versions of LR can introduce weirdness.
2. Have you tried resetting your preference file?

No, no user templates.
Trashing the preference file is my next step - I'd hoped to avoid it.
I'll post what happens.
Ta,

Yes, removing the preferences file sorted it, but I really don't like having to use a blunderbuss to fix a specific problem. Adobe really ought to sort out these little bugs. Maybe I should download 5.6, just in case ??? .
