Title: Photographer Accused of Posting ‘Pornographic’ Photos of His 2-Year-Old...
Post by: Ed B on August 24, 2014, 11:57:30 am
It's not pornography and anyone who thinks it is might have a deeper problem by sexualizing children but I'm not sure if I would post these on the internet for those who do have a pedophilia problem to use for their own gratification. Nude images of kids has an old history rooted in innocence, I'm pretty sure my mom has some old black and whites of me but she didn't parade them for the world to see. But then again, back then there wasn't really any way to do that for the average person.

I agree that, given current levels of hysteria, he'd have been well advised not to have posted some of those images. The hysterical responses were all too easily predictable.

Perhaps the most disturbing comment is the last, from the "licensed clinical social worker": not because of what she (I assume it's a she) says, but because of the inferences to be drawn as to her attitude to her work.

The Onion, as ever, had a great comment on fear of nudity, here (http://www.theonion.com/articles/us-children-still-traumatized-one-year-after-seein,1285/).

I took 8mm film back 55 years ago of my 10-month-old niece with her mom, my sister, who was giving her a bath.  A few years ago I combined all my film over the first ten years of her life into a DVD and added music.  For this section, I used Bobby Darin's song "Splish, Splash, I was taking a bath."  My sister really treasures this DVD.

People are too nosy and should mind their business and take care of their own families.

Cute photos.
Porno ? no.
Maybe not a good idea to do the full frontal nudity thing on-line ?
Probably.

The social worker need help. ;)
That said, I bet its a shit job and that they do see things that the rest of us wouldn't want to deal with.
It's not a job I would be good at or want to do.

I just joined LL.   A strange bit of synchronicity that I should log into this forum, at this particular subject item.  I happen to be currently reading Irving Stone's "Passions of the Mind", which is the biography of Sigmund Freud.  Although much of Freud's psychoanalytic theories have been disproven by more modern psychology research, his ground-breaking discoveries about the sexual awareness of very young children initially caused him to be vilified and ostracized by almost everyone in the medical and general population.  He too was unfairly accused of being a pervert, a pedophile and a sexual deviate for bringing these discoveries into public awareness.  What he came to understand about this abnormal angry reaction was that a great deal of society had so repressed their own sexual feelings, that part of the social "neurosis" of his time was to reject and deny the existence of this normal, human experience because most children have been taught at a very early age that these feelings are to be considered "dirty", "evil" and "morally unacceptable".  Sadly, not much has apparently changed since the late 1800's with respect to understanding our normal sexual natures.

Yes good on him for bringing it out into the open. Nothing 'sick' there.
