Title: dev time using d-76 for t-max

Guys i have a doubt on development times, i buyed this t-max :

In the bag of the developer d-76 say this:

KODAK FILM

PROFESSIONAL T-MAX - FILM CODE : 100TMX -  ISO 100/200 - FULL STRENGTH  ---> 6.5 minutes

T-MAX 100 PROFESSIONAL - FILM CODE: TMX - ISO 100/200 - FULL STRENGTH  ----> 9 minutes.



So i am confused what of both times i must use with that film,  using d-76 kodak professional develeper i tried to find the "film code" but i dont know what it is.

You also have the Ilford Dev.  See attachment.
I think the 120 & 35mm film get the same processing.

Hi,
The develope times depent on contrast you want, shorter times for low kontrast (when using hard light condensor enlarger) or high contrast for diffuse light source. Also the film size is important, becouse 135, 120 and sheet film does use different of different thinkness- therfore also different times. D76 is not really fine grain when used pur. Use D76 1:1 or better 1:3 mixed with water- You will get finer grain, better light and shadows, much better gradiation in all. The times will be in that case about 15 min (1:1) or 20 min (1:3). At longer times and softer developer you dont need to be so exactly as with pure one. Never go above 20 Celcius. I prefer X-tol for Tmax (Tetenal Negafin should be the same when I remember-I did not develope fim since some years)

Yeah i wrote in the post about in the bag of developer is writed 2 times for two types of films caloed tmax

Hi,

Do you have an image or scan of that package text, or is it this (http://www.kodak.com/global/en/professional/support/techPubs/j78/j78.pdf) (page 3)? Seems like there is some missing info.

P.S. I found your answer on Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kodak_T-MAX), it refers to old (pre-2002 emulsions). PROFESSIONAL T-MAX 100 is the modern formulation, and requires a shorter development time.
