Title: Quote from Buzz Lightyear
Post by: Chris Calohan on August 15, 2014, 02:33:36 pm
While playing with this shot, my six year old grandson came into the room, took one look at it, struck a pose, left fist thrust outward, right hand snugly on his hip, and declared at 747 decibles,

"To Infinity and Beyond!"

How does a six year old make this connection?

He's been watching the tube.

Good surrealism, Chris. Keep it up.

The quote is terrific.

The clouds??????

I can't determine if they are absolutely the right clouds or perhaps detract from the cohesiveness of the image.

The clouds look kind of ratty and neither one thing or another, sort of torn apart like scraps of tissue paper blowing in a gusty wind.

The smooth curve of the lights moving are not gusty, but controlled.

See I just can't get my mind around it.

So as you can see it is an engaging image.

It's a six second exposure...clouds are going to move and be a little less concise. I used this image as opposed to about 20 others I shot because the clouds were drawing the eye in one direction and the lights in the opposite. I have been trying for good visual tension.

Chris

It is interesting that you also realised the significance of the cloud pattern.

Be interesting to see some of the ones you discarded.

"To Infinity and Beyond!"

Perfect title for this photograph!
