A remote, abandoned farm in the Westfjords of Iceland. More in my blog post (http://www.parrikar.com/blog/2014/08/15/unadsdalur/).

Beautiful composition. I'm always impressed by your work - there's a sublime simplicity to it.

Also love "The clouds of fury" from your blog

The spot of red makes the photo.

+2 - SPECTACULAR! Your best work from Iceland yet, Rajan. I feel this one photo encapsulates so many of the wonderful characteristics you have shown us previously in other Iceland photos: the remoteness, the sparseness, the huge expanses, the clouds and weather, the distant hills, the blue of the sea...
Have you saved the best to the last or are there still more to come?
One question...is that a farm building, house or church?
-
Very satisfying.

Thank you, gentlemen.
Terry - that is a church. The area has now been abandoned. The landowners of a nearby farm spend time here in the summer only and make available some accommodation for rent, I think.

Thanks for yet another wonderful glimpse of Iceland, Rajan!

Slightly off topic : there have been rumblings in the Bárðarbunga volcano over the past 24 hours. If the thing erupts, we might have air traffic disruption over the pond.
