Title: Upper Provo River Falls
Post by: Lonnie Utah on August 04, 2014, 10:05:41 am
Went on a family camping trip this weekend. I got out to shoot for just about an hour under flat light. While I came back with this shot...

What I didn't come back with was the lens hood to my Zeiss 24-70mm f/2.8. Pricing them on the Sony website $250, with 3rd party vendors about 1/2 that (if you can find one). :(

f/13
15 sec.
ISO 200
24mm

I really like the framing with the successive waterfall "segments". Too bad you lend hood didn't float, for that kind of price, it should!

Anyway, you have a superb image and that's what counts.

I always try to lean towards constructive/critical feedback and my initial impression is I can't come up with any.  I might have gone with 10 seconds instead of 15, but looks great regardless.

Thank you both! :)

A beautiful image in every regard. One small niggly is the white "spot" of water on the far side od the stream -  probably spinning foam or the like. It keeps drawing my eye away from exploring all the silvery pathways of the river water (but then again, I'm easily distracted ;) )

I like the way the water is parted in two on the lower part of the frame. Then each "branch" goes to its respective corner of the frame.
