There was an older thread suggesting that Advanced B&W Printing no longer exists for the Epson 4900. This thread was from 2011, yet Jeff Schewe's book (Pp 230-231) copyrighted in 2014 suggests that this is still a feature.
So I am confused. Under no circumstances will 'Advanced B&W Photo' appear in the Print Mode dialog box in LR5 (latest).
Epson Stylus Pro 4900. Firmware and all drivers updated today 8/2/2014.
All help appreciated.

First off, you must set Managed by Printer, not the other option where you select a profile. Go to Color Settings and make sure it's set for Epson Color Controls (not ColorSync). Then Print Mode will allow you to select Advanced B&W. Of course, save that as a custom template so you don't have to do this again.
