Thanks for taking a look !
Sigma dp2 Merrill/Sigma Photo Pro
Take care,

Excellent shot, Dwayne. Two points: it's a little on the dark side, and I want to see some colour!

Well seen and well captured, Dwayne! The head and top part of the wings are amazingly sharp.
I never thought about using this camera for macro shots. Now I can see that with a little bit of cropping it can work quite well.

It seems a bit dark to me, too, but I'm afraid that making it lighter might ruin the luscious tones, especially the way the wing spots glow.

Beautiful.
To my eye, it's not too dark, but it does have too much undetermined middle-gray. I think the picture would be stronger after slicing off ΒΌ starting from the left edge.

Thank you very much for the comments everyone !
I really appreciate it ! I used the sigma AML-1 close up
filter for this image on the Merrill. It basically gets you
a couple of more inches on the close focus but no
magnification. You still have to sneak up on these
guys. I think I was just about 4 inches away from
the subject.

The bug is perfectly rendered in terms of tones, at least to me. As others have said, it's the background that looks a bit "lifeless" .

Thank you Paulo !

I also want some color! :) A suggestion for the background - you might try "defocusing" it some more by masking off the dragonfly and lowering mid-range contrast (lowering Clarity in Lightroom).
Very nice detail on the dragonfly.
