Title: camera reviews on VJ
Post by: Steve West on September 25, 2005, 10:48:34 am
I recall reading on this site (or seeing it on the VJ) that camera reviews will no longer be part of VJ.  Although I understand that reviews become dated rather quickly, I have enjoyed them very much.  First, they lay a time marker into the journals on the technology available which is very interesting for historical reasons.  Second, I really like the detailed camera discussion of features and ergonomics.  Many of us buy cameras on the internet, and most of these cameras are not available at local shops.  The web review sites are great, but I still benefit from seeing someone handle the camera and commenting on it.  What works on the camera, and what doesn't?  How are photographers need served or not served by this particular camera?

If you stop reviews, I do REALLY hope that you have segements where you discuss cameras in depth in a hands-on show-and-tell way.  You don't have to call it a review!

Thanks for your consideration.
