Once again I turn to this forum when at my wits' end..
I have spent two days trying to work this out. If one can print a pano on the above printer, using MAC, please tell me what to do.
I have tried paper sizes, borderless, custom sizes without success. Please help!

Hi William,
From which application do you intend to print, and what is the problem you are experiencing?
Presumably, there is an issue related to the page/paper size setting, but more info is needed to pinpoint any issue you may experience.
Cheers,

Hi Bart
Thanks for the help!
I have tried printing from both Lightroom and Photoshop CC.
I am definitely having a problem at the page size point. I am using a 17" roll of paper and am trying to print 16"X 60". I have tried making a custom size for that but it still prints about half (in height) the picture.
I guess what I really meant to ask is: can one print panoramas with the ipf8400, from Mac, without having to use a third-party piece of software? If, so, surely there must be a simple procedure?
If you need more precise info regarding the exact wording, I can go through the whole process, no problem.
Thanks
William

Hi Bart,
Have you tried the Canon photoshop print plugin?
-
I have printed several 60" plus prints with my ipf 8300 with a Mac, no problem.
I use the canon print plug in for photoshop CC and CS6. You can download it free from canon's
website. To print you go to File/Export/print plug in.
Just set up a custom size and print like normal.
If you are already doing that, then I suspect one of your settings is wrong. Posting screens shots
of the print dialog boxes will help someone figure out your problem.

Thanks Guys - the Photoshop Plug-in has done the trick!
Thanks to all.

I've seen this before on other printers from photoshop as a file size issue.

Yea, the plug-in is great. I've never even used the standard driver. This is probably one of the reasons Canon created it in the first place, to bypass the Adobe limits.
What is the maximum length of the plug-in though? What is the longest print you guys have made. I believe my max print so far was 70". I think someone posted that you could go to at least 100"?

I have done 76", would be good to know the upper limit.

This article (http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/article_pages/14m_pano_print.html) from Keith Cooper explains how he managed to print a 14 meter panorama on an IPF8300.

I know I'm pushing my luck, but, wouldn't it be nice to have the Photoshop plugin in Lightroom?
I suppose one could do everything as per normal in Lightroom and send the "completed" file through to Photoshop. The only problems that I see are that Lightroom's (superior?) output sharpening and up-rezzing would be sacrificed and those elements would have to be done (not as well?) in Photoshop.
Or am I missing something?
