I know. This little bright colored little fella is really called the "Collared Lizard" but that's such a dull name. I prefer the more colorful "Mountain Boomer." That's what they're called in Oklahoma where the Mountain Boomer is the state lizard and it seems to fit such a colorful guy.
I found this little guy this afternoon while hiking in the Wichita Mountains of SW Oklahoma. He posed nicely for me for quite awhile.
