Title: my first posted image for comment

I am gradually getting to look around the forum and see where everything is. Still a way to go.

But I believe in contributing both in terms of comment and also showing my own images. So to kick the ball off here is an image I put together in the last two weeks.

I wont say it is a title, but the theme in my head was "Travelling." Ambiguous but there is a clear connection but I will leave that for later.

I admit you've got me puzzled. I really like the image and at first thought it was an ice cave in a glacier. But those white things sure look like clouds!

That's a very powerful image, Mal!

I suspect it's a composite and that the white areas are indeed clouds, but I have no idea what the rest is. But that doesn't matter to me: it works!

Where the Sky Meets the Sea

The streaming cloud lines fit well with the diverging palm or fern fronds.  I like shift in blue hue from top to bottom, as well as the way the shadows in the fronds darken the middle just enough.

Oh, I have finally managed to anthropomorphize it.  It's not a whale, it is tightly packed swimmers diving into the water.

Thank you very much for the positive response.

It is fact a composite image of the sky above us as we rode our motorbike across the Darling Downs.

The lower half is actually a close up of a Traveller Palm laid side ways to give a repeating arrow motif which to me repeats the moving on that travelling involves.

I chose this image to share because it is a mid way image for me. Not too abstract and yet not too much just a photograph of a scene.

Thank you again for your responses.

Very, very nice!

If it were b&w, I would have thought Jerry Uelsmann joined the forum  :)

Beautiful photograph and very well conceived. True creativity as it is a product of your mind rather than, like many of us, what' staring us in the face.

I also appreciate being "sucked into" the image by not knowing what it is. It could be so many different things which makes viewers like myself stop and ponder and ask questions. Wonderful!
