Title: Leaving printer on 24/7.
Post by: Some Guy on May 11, 2014, 11:02:32 am
Someone mentioned their Epson 3880 occasionally would act up while being left on.  Pumping up carts and maybe some nozzle activity into the maintenance cart.  I've left mine on for a few days but haven't heard anything like that, but I'm not around it either.

Can't find it now or anything in the book, but was wondering if leaving the thing on 24/7 does some sort of random auto-cleaning to keep the nozzles from plugging up?

Tia.

I've never heard my 3800 or my 3880 make random noises when just sitting turned on for weeks at a time.

Only when it wakes back up to print something.

Same experience as Howard. Have owned 2 3800's and one 3880, always left them on 24/7 unless I was going out of town.
They go to sleep and stay that way until you print something.

Same experience here, I never heard any strange, unexpected noise from my 3800.
