Thanks everyone for the nods. Much appreciated.
Anything that is "working" in this image is something I learned here over the past couple months and I am sure there will be more roasting turds as Russ calls them  :)
Any ideas on how to improve it?

I doubt the lower left hand quadrant has the native potential of the other three.  Tweaking it may get you only so far.  The forceful addition of YOUR NAME HERE, or a miniture bailling machine etc could perk it up.

I guess I'm the one detractor. To me, it's a photographer's photograph as we can appreciate the contrast in tones and textures, and the overall sharpness and technical skill. I "get it" in that here is also a contrast in the wrapped straw and the unwrapped straw. But I fail to be hooked like the rest. I'm trying to see more in it, but I'm just not "there".
