Am still using glycerin droplets and discovered that cooling the glycerin gives them a molasses consistency...interesting!

Glycerin is also often used by actors. One can only spontaneously generate tears for so many takes.
Never thought of using it for macro work, though.

Mixed with water and using a spray bottle you can get some nice droplets on flowers Mike, it doesn't run off all over the place then. If I remember correctly food photographers use it to add a sparkle to food, but I might be wrong as hairspray is also used in a similar way.

Great shot and very helpful technical info. I'm not sure the title does it any justice, particularly the reference to a roadside. Also is it slightly on the warm side? The green of the leaf seems overly warm.
