Title: Need a not too expensive option of textured matte paper
Post by: huguito on May 02, 2014, 12:20:43 pm
I am helping someone make a set of 17x22 prints, I will need something along the line of Epson Cold Press Natral. Not too bright, lots of texture.
Doesn't need to be archival, just have to look good, the budget for this work is tiny.
I am thinking the 600MT from BC, I have a couple of sheets from a sample set, looks good but never printed on it.
Anyone has a better/cheaper recommendation for this?

I don't think you will find anything cheaper for that quality. It is $0.82 per sq ft, but you have to cut from rolls. Hahnemhule German Etching is $1.19 per sq ft, if you buy 24" x 36" sheets: two 17" x 24" sheets from each larger sheet, with 2" of waste.

If you go down to 200 gsm, then there is InkPress Matte Linen, at $0.50 per sq ft in 17" x 22" sheets. I haven't used it but I'm sure it is white not natural.

Check the innova range. They have good fine art papers at an interesting price point.
