Hi All,
Just a couple of random shots from a recent walk in the woods.

Anyone have a preference?
Option 1

Or
Option 2

Well option 1 has the great impact on first look. BUT option 2 has more intrigue, more staying power. I prefer option 2.
-
For me it's #1, as I find #2 just too washed out.
-
I agree with Paulo, version #1 is the best and for the same reasons already mentioned.
-
I lean toward 1 as well.

I hear you. But I think(for me) #1 is a dime a dozen. Very familiar processing, seen it a million times.
#2 I don't think it's "washed out" just has much lower contrast. You don't see processing like that as often, maybe because it's riskier.
Maybe that's why I prefer it.
I am sure there is no right or wrong here...just expressing my very humble thought process.

Hi Guys,
cheers for the feedback. In the end, with that particular image, i oppted for option 3 ;)

It occurred to me that maybe colour would look better, and I think with the moss, it kinda does.

I agree. Option 3 wins for me.
-
Yes, I like it in colour. Agree about the temptation to increase contrast not always being worth following through on.
-
In this case, I also prefer the color version over the B&W.

I agree.
The colour version has its own appeal, but the mood is completely different from #1: there's no brooding danger and nothing sinister. Unlike #2, it's pretty; but, IMHO, not special.

#1 and #2 and I prefer #1 since it the less common.
You don't need the color - I'd rather try to bring out the contrast to the moss in the b/w conversion process.
The color, imo brings back too much realism, which I believe is not desirable here.
Both images have a very nice dreamy, magical and unreal atmosphere - well done !
Cheers
