Title: Don't do decisions very well
Post by: wmchauncey on February 26, 2014, 04:26:25 pm
Found a different sky residing on my HD...which is more better, color or B&W?

+1. The color's just over the top. The B&W's great.

I like the color better.  A couple of things.  The out of focus forground is a little distracting and doesn't add anything.  Also, there seems to be a lot of jpeg artifacts in the clouds.  Maybe a higher save quality would eliminate them.  Nice shot.

It's a tough call, but I'm going to go with Russ on this one.

I'm totally undecided but I'd vote for the color version but both versions are amazing.

Thanks guys...I really appreciate the kudos.        ;)

But, I have an urge to say "Houston, we have a problem"...the colors and tones of what I'm looking at here do not represent what I see on the ProPhoto converted to sRGB and saved via "Save for Web" originals.
What goes into Photobucket only vaguely represents what is coughed out onto various sites. What might be better alternatives than Photobucket?        ???

Zenfolio?
Smugmug?

I doubt your site alters the images - download one and compare with your original, usually there shouldn't be a difference.

Internet presents color in sRGB.  If you download Adobe RGB or another color gamut the colors could be different.  It's a good idea to download in sRGB.

All I know is when I use "save for web" in PSCC and send them to Photobucket they seem fine, even when viewing in Photobucket, but...
when I link to them, or even take a screen capture from Photobucket, they gain about 30 points in saturation.

Color.

There is too much foreground, I would crop half of it.

Cheers,
