This one keeps catching my eye - what do you think of it?

Thanks

William

It's not unappealing; but the only real point of interest is the wave breaking on the large rock, and it's a pretty small part of the whole.

FWIW, I think it needs some "snap." The thumbnail is more appealing than the larger version.

I agree 100%. The interesting part of this image is too small and the rest is cluttered. It dilutes the impact of the main subject.

Hi William - good to hear from you again!

I think the area where you shot this image has great potential to produce stunning seascapes.
I have to say that I think you haven't quite captured the undoubted beauty and drama of this rocky cove.

Thanks to all for your comments.

I'm not sure what "snap" I could give it, I was worried that i had overdone it already! However, I do agree with you about the thumbnail. It always catches my eye in the Library which was the reason for the post in the first place. Perhaps, I should just leave it there...

Tony, always nice hearing from you. Are you watching the cricket?  :)

I think its a good image which has a lot potential if being given some more love in post to bring out the best in it.
I like the colors a lot, maybe enhancing the blues to cause some more color contrast to the warm and brownish/yellowish tones would make it stronger.
You also might want consider a square crop around the main rock for subject focus and a slight increase in contrast in the lights and a bit of dodging and burning to enhance some features.
And I don't find it boring at all - its a peaceful, warm and beautiful scene, which doesn't need too much tweaking to start singing.
Cheers
~Chris

I was watching the cricket but went to bed before a single wicket fell - woke up this morning to find that Australia had been bowled out in the final session!
