Nope.
Now you just copied Westons original composition.
Where is your OWN thing in it?
It is now technically perfectly executed, but a copy.
Shame on you!
Your initial composition was great - a different composition with magical movement and mystery in it.
Now go back, rinse, repeat ...
Sorry for being harsh, but I had to say it - take it with a grain of salt.
Cheers

P.S.: If you see it as an excercise its okay, but I have stricter rules in criticising your images, you're not a beginner after all ...

Calm down, Chris. It was an exercise to see what soft light would do for the nautilus. Soft light with the original composition sort of kills it. You lose the internal glow from the reflection that makes it look as if there's a bright light inside the shell, and of course you lose the definition in the striations. So I thought I'd see how close I could come to Weston's original. Actually, I think this nautilus has more interesting markings than Edward's.

But I want to see your own original!
I even recomposed it in PS a little because I liked it so much, but didn't post it.
Cheers
