I do a lot of location work where I'm overpowering sunlight with my H1 and 7B power packs. My Pocket Wizards will sync up to about 1/400 or so. After that, I get no more bang for my buck. I've heard the Profoto Airs will sync faster - up to 1/1600 with the Phase One camera. Will they also sync faster with the H series cameras? On the B&H website it says they only sync to 1/500 yet I've heard over and over from people that they're getting up to 1/1600 with the built in trigger.
Does anyone know the scoop here?

I'm using elinchrom skyports with my h1 and they're working fine up to 1/800. You can't go past 1/800 on the Hassy's, but the skyports have no problem with it.

Pocketwizard air will reach 1/1600 with phase and 1/800 with hassy.

Doug, I think you mean ProFoto Air. ;)

You probably start to cut into your Profoto 7b flash duration beyond 1/400th. You may need a faster strobe unit.
Do a hardwired test to check if you get the results you expect.

FWIW, I've used the elinchrom's with their Ranger and Ranger Quadra units with no issues up to 1/800.

Thanks for the clarification. No doubt I would have soon started to pull my hair out as I searched for the mythical PW Air trigger.

I used a mix of pw plus III and plus x units yesterday at 1/500. Didn't need to go higher as I was in a studio.
will do a test next weekend to see how far I can push them.
