Just ran across this one from 2008. It was outside Catlettsville, Kentucky in the early morning.

Did you turn around and come back, swerve to the side quickly, or were you hitchhiking? ;) Seriously, I admire the ability to make a split second decision so essential in street photography, but I would have been half a mile down the road thinking, "That would have made a good photograph..."

Hi David, I broke over the hill, saw the scene, slammed on the brakes, pulled off on the shoulder and jumped out with my D3. Got back in the car, drove down the road until I was abreast the plant. Slammed on the brakes, pulled off on the shoulder, jumped out and shot this one.

Good ones, Russ!
Your quick reaction is commendable... and necessary. Any longer and you would be detained by security guards and possibly Homeland Security for questioning. ;)

That's a great pair of shots!
(With a sentence like that, I can hardly believe I wrote 'shots' first time!)

There are decisive moments, and then there are decisive shooters. Nice, Russ.

Both stunning, Russ. I'm glad you didn't get arrested.

Very effective in B&W, #1 I particularly like.
