Title: Spectrasensor Pro or I1 pro
Post by: calindustries on January 11, 2014, 01:23:44 pm
I have an older i1 Display 2 calibrator that came with my NEC 2690. I recently got a MBP Retina and am led to believe that the i1 Display 2 cannot be used with Mavericks OS to calibrate the MBP display (I have normally used the i1 Profiler Lion Edition to calibrate my last MBP display and Spectraview II to calibrate both my 2690 and my NEC PA231.

Do I need to replace this unit? Also if I do is there an actual difference as to whether I get a new i1 Pro or the NEC branded Spectrasensor Pro?

Thanks,
Craig

the old i1 Display 2 has been obsoleted by time and progress.

I'd get (well I have got)  the i1 Display Pro:  it works with the Macbook (w i1 Profiler s/w) and the NEC monitor (w Spectraview s/w).  The NEC branded version will work with the NEC but not the Macbook AFAIK.

Cheers
