The screen on the back of the CFV-50 is so small and coarse that I wonder if there is a way to review photos in the field right after they are taken on an external device like an iPhone or phablet that has a high quality screen? I see the CFV-50 back has a Firewire output. Could this be used for this purpose.
It would also be nice to zoom in and pan to check focus.
Thanks.

small netbook running phocus, with a firewire 800 express card installed?
or a macbook air, running phocus, using the TB-->FW800 adapter?
Not sure if the CFV backs allow for a battery to be used during tethered capture, so you won't have to worry (much) about low-voltage issues from these small netbooks/laptops...

This discussion on getdpi (http://www.getdpi.com/forum/medium-format-systems-digital-backs/49683-eye-fi-ipad-wireless-tethered-image-view.html) explains how to use an iPad wirelessly.

I would be most interested in hearing if you find a good solution for this.
I'm myself interested in the CFV-50 back, but the bad screen is a concern for me, as I've got used to a working 100% focus/sharpness check in the field with my view camera. I use a Leaf Aptus 75 today which was a pioneering back with 100% sharpness check which actually works despite it's rather primitive screen (with today's standards).

I assume tethered to a light laptop or OS running tablet would be the best.
