Ive made several prints of same file with both 1880, belongs to me and 9900( belongs to a friend) but 9900 is far sharper. he did not apply additional sharpness although I tried extreme sharpness just to see if I can make the same quality but no way. I print trough LR5 and he by PS 6 both using Epson own driver. Is it that generally 9900 prints sharper than 11880 or there is something wrong with my setup? nasal check is checked, okay!
thx.

The 11880 is darn sharp. Have you done a head alignment on the particular media your printing with? And was your comparison done on the same media?
-
No head alignment, the printer is almost brand new. the media is the same. do I need alignment?

Yes.

I don't need a service personal to do this. I can do it trough its maintenance setup menu, yes?
-
I've never had any sharpness issues with my 11880.
Cheers!

Yes, you can do the head alignment yourself and yes, it's needed and possibly the cause of your sharpness issue. I've never and sharpness issues on the 11880 and quite like them...
-
i am going to try it right now!

unfortunately alignment didn't make sharpness any better :'(
Not that the print is not sharp, it is not as sharp as 9900, just a tad more sharper and they are even.

I have an 11880 and a 9900, and side by side prints are virtually indistinguishable from each other. Not sure what he problem is but sounds like something is amiss.

I'm with Wayne on this. That's odd. Do you feel like the difference is due to dot accuracy? Or could it have to do with Dmax differences? If you print profiling target, are there any gaps or overlaps between the patches. How does 3 point type look? Are you seeing any overspray? And the driver settings are identical?

Yes but how are the print settings in LR5 and in PS6? And is the Epson driver setup exactly the same?
