I have been living in Silver City, NM for the past 10 years and only recently just took the time to head south of town and explore the landscape around Lordsburg NM. What looks like a dump from the interstate can quickly turn into a photographers wet dream. Cant wait to explore the area more this winter!! These images were captured with a Sony a99 and Sony/Zeiss 24mm f2 lens. They print out wonderfully at 24x36in.

...wet dream...
I know what you mean... all those pour souls crossing the border on foot and desperately looking for a few drops of water! ;)
P.S. I like the simplicity of #2

Both images are keepers. I agree #2 stands out for me too!

Was the double entendre intentional?

Who knew is right?! This area looks to have massive potential. Both images posted are fantastic though I'm partial to the black and white. I wonder how the first one would look converted to black and white?

Magic.
Mystic.
Marvellous.
Thanks for posting these.

+1
I vaguely remember that there are playas nearby.
Both are nice!

Here is the first image in B/W. I still like it best in color. In the second image there was never any question that it had to be B/W.
-
I'm glad you posted the b/w version.
I looked at both again and prefer it above the colored one.
The colored one is beautiful, yes - but the b/w one offers more space for imagination - imo it has more impact and goes deeper.
Cheers
