Title: Death Valley
Post by: Vieri Bottazzini on December 05, 2013, 04:00:23 pm
Hello everyone,

last January I spent some time shooting in amazing Death Valley with the D800E. I finally finished editing all the images out of that wonderful trip, images that I posted HERE (http://www.vieribottazzini.com/-/galleries/portfolios/death_valley) for those interested.

Death Valley is one of my favourite places on the planet to shoot, the only problem is that I live on the other side of the Atlantic, which makes it a bit difficult to get there whenever I'd like to

Below some samples for you to enjoy:

OK, this is about it for now - see the rest of the images in my DEATH VALLEY (http://www.vieribottazzini.com/-/galleries/portfolios/death_valley) gallery. Best,

I hate saying this, but
the watermark stopped me from continuing viewing, though there are some very fine images.

Cheers

Hi Vieri,
Cool pictures! Could you say something about the used lenses?
Thank you.

Good stuff, especially the contrasting colours in 3.

Nice to see some new views of Death Valley.

(addendum) Just took a look at the website.

The WMs are not too annoying. The dunes in the soft light are well done and have a nice bite in the tonalities that 30 years ago with film would have not happened! Also, the photos at dusk are very nicely crafted! Well done!

Thank you everyone, I am glad you enjoyed the pictures and the Valley.

@Chris: I am sorry about the WM, but having to choose between posting images in very small sizes or big but with a WM, I went for the latter which I think gives people the best viewing experience of the two despite the annoying WM.

@Cyron: Thank you! Lenses used for this gallery where the 14-24mm f2.8 AF-S, 35mm f1.4 AF-S, 50mm f1.4 AF-S, 85mm f1.4 AF-S, 70-200 f4 AF-S. Images in this post: nr. 1, 35mm; nr. 2, 70-200 @70mm; nr. 3, 35mm; nr. 4, 50mm; nr. 5, 14-24mm @14mm; last image is the DP2 Merrill and its 45mm - equivalent lens. Hope this helps :)

Thank you very much everyone, I am glad you enjoyed the pics. The B&W is also one of my fav, I think the subject lends itself to B&W treatment pretty well.

The mushroom rock is great. Did you set the white balance to tungsten on that one?

Thank you very much, I am glad you enjoyed - as far as the WB, the sky was blue (after dusk) and I "helped" the WB a bit as well in PP  ;D
