I like this very much. The amount of blur is spot on and the processing is excellent. On small nitpick. I would be inclined to crop about 1/2 an inch off the top because my eye is drawn to the white portion that is supposedly the sky. It is possible to clone some of the foliage into the sky but you might feel that is "cheating"? As it is... a fine image!

Good point - I never thought of the white area in the sky!
Thanks for pointing it out!

I tend to desaturate some of the blues in shadow areas like that, but that's just me.
Mike.

The amount of water blur on the lower fall is simply spot on.
-
I agree. less sky would be good.
I wonder about the source of the red in the bottom freshet. Just a leaf?
Nice composition.

Good idea re the red leaf...
I edited the shot to remove the sky:

Very nicely done Martin, I much prefer the edited version although both versions draw me right in.
-
Wonderful image, Martin! I think the second version is much improved. What was the focal length?

The edited version is amazing!

You chose a very nice position to get down and bring out some nice close details in the foreground. Much improved in version 2 without the sky.
-
Very nice shot. I spent a great deal of time around there as a teen, and have slides taken there in '79 while back on vacation. The village itself also presents some good shooting opportunities.
-
Thanks guys
Willie I've never ventured into the village - must do that someday..

Its a pretty good shot, but in order to make this an excellent shot you really need to go back on a better day.
Reshoot when that horrible white sky is a nice blue and go at the time of day when you'd ve got some great golden sunlight coming in, maybe even some mist and rays.
Perhaps when the plants are a little more alive too.

Thanks for the input Paul, I'd love to capture the waterfall in mist with rays - the waterfall is located in the middle of a forest.
