not sure how this happened but i'm getting a grey tone around the outside of images , i tried turning off and on the page background color to white and turned off? any thoughts? thnx...tim

Did you also check image settings/Stroke border? Sorry if that is too obvious.
-
I had that turned off... It's a solid, faint grey tone outside of the image extending to the border. I figure it must be in LR since it doesn't do this in PS...

Can be the aera that cannot be printed. The bleed . On an epson it is 3.2 of 2.8 mm

Where are you getting this grey area? In Lightroom? Or on the print itself?
-
for example, on an 8.5x11 sheet and the image is say 4x5 centered, the gray tone fills in all the open area out to the border... its a 3880, i've been using it quite frequently and this kinda happened... could it be a profile problem or example?
-
by the way, i just installed Mavericks on OS10.9... i wonder if that could be the cause...
-
So it is on the paper itself?
-
yes. i do not see the tone in the print preview display, its white
-
You've not got something like a drop shadow enabled in the print preview, have you? Printer manages colours?
-
no and yes...
-
I wonder if it is "scum dot" caused by printing with a Version 4 ICC profile instead of a Version 2 profile?

You know, Tim, a picture is worth a thousand words. (Maybe more with inflation...)
-
Last idea : no ID plate? (last time I tried, those were nor color-managed, or at least not the same way as the image ie wrongly).
-
this is what i can't figure out—not printing the grey border around the image... thnx all...tim

Are you soft proofing?
If so, right click on the gray border and check your paper white setting.
-
bingo! thnx for the fix...tim
