Title: Question about D800 and time lapse video
Post by: AFairley on October 28, 2013, 06:54:09 pm
I am thinking of shooting a time lapse video of sky/clouds with the D800.  However, I am worried about damaging the sensor or shutter since the sun will be transiting the frame during part of the elapsed time.   If I recall correctly, when you go into time lapse mode, the LV screen is dark.  Does anyone know if the physical shutter is actually closed between frame captures?  If the shutter is closed, would the sun damage the shutter?
