Title: Soft Proof if use only one color paper/printer combos

I use only one combination of printer and paper for color printing.  With that in mind, wouldn't it make sense to make all the Develop adjusts with Soft Proof on for that combination of printer and paper. Otherwise it seems I would be "starting over" once I turned Soft Proof on.

Also, does one use Soft Proof for B+W Develop?

I usually develop (in LR) my images until I like them on screen and then turn on softproofing to check if something happens that needs correction (out of gamut colors, contrast/toning ugly and such). If that is the case I create a copy for the printer/paper profile I am proofing after my initial edit and do the corrections. If you ever print on a new paper or get a new printer you will not want to start all over.

Right plus there's really no overhead here, it's just another set of instructions.

What about for black and white? Do you soft proof?
