Actually, everything. For starters, it is a 1600 px jpeg (before being resized for posting here). And it is out of focus... totally, across the board. So, what happened?
I was sitting in my local Barnes & Noble cafe, sipping my coffee and reading, when mother nature decided to throw one of her shows when you least expect it. The sky wast changing colors rapidly, leaving no time to run outside and look for a better vantage point, so I grabbed my Canon G10 and pressed it against a second-floor window, trying to eliminate reflections. I quickly checked the settings, noticing my control dial was on one of the two "C" (custom) settings, and moved on to concentrate on avoiding the glass reflections. Except... I juxtaposed the two custom settings in my memory (which happens when you do not use a camera often enough). You see, when I go to a B&N to read, I use my camera as a visual notepad (or a hand-held copier), so C1 setting is set to jpeg, 1600 px, and CLOSE UP! The other setting, C2 is of course, RAW all the way, etc.
Posting this in the beginner section to show that I too make beginner's mistakes more often than I care to admit (even to myself). Feel free to join me in this Hall of Shame with your own examples. All for good fun, of course, as it happens to be the "flavor of the year" on this site as well. Hopefully we can all learn from mistakes too.

Noble attempt, Slobodan. I have quite a pile of similarly artistic accidents, and I'm going to see if I can find the recent beautiful sunrise through a window with a screen on it. Taken with my Canon Powershot 110, which chose to focus on the screen, not the scene outside. :'(

Without that green lantern the image wouldn't be half as good.
And being sharp it wouldn't be either.
Just like it is its a very nice color contrast study.
Technical perfection would just have distracted from that.
I just started a flickr stream with a wild mix of photographs and realized the technical imperfect ones are the ones I like most in a certain way.

Ermmm I'm new here.
There's something wrong with the image submitted? It's sharper than anything I've ever taken. The colours may be a little understated but converted to BW who would notice!

You need glasses to adapt sharpness and color saturation, maybe goggle glass can help you :D

Did you notice the flying saucer? Just above and to the right of the lamp. We are not alone!

After spending the night photographing the Milky Way, got up early the next morning to take a few sunrise images. After taking a few images I noticed the shutter seemed to be operating at a "fast" speed even though I had my settings right where I wanted them. All except one >:(. I forgot to reset the ISO back to 100 from the 3200 I was using the night before. Major noise in all the images! Had to go back to the same location the next day to re-shoot. The first image has all the noise, the second much better results.

That's easy to fix. Just smear a thin layer of Vaseline on the front of the lens. :D

If you smear it on your glasses (or your eyes, but it might be uncomfortable), you get the effect wherever you look. No expensive camera needed!

These days my eyes do that automatically. No Vaseline (or camera) needed.
