Shot at the same location as the Godrevy lighthouse images. This is my favourite, the surfer was just standing watching the sunset probably trying to figure out if he could go in one more time. I spent 2 1/2 hours taking photographs ( approx 300 images) many of which just didn't work as my tripod kept moving as the waves washed past during 30s exposures I may make some very long spikes (12") and fit them the next time. Fuji XE-1 f5.0 1/30s Fuji XF 14mm.

Lovely feeling, great sand texture and reflections.
Seems to me you selectively lightened up the foreground rocks, which raises the question what is the main point of interest, the rocks or the surfer? If it were my image, I would leave the rocks as they were, ie, presumably darker. I would also flip the image. That way you would have two strong leading lines, the rocks pointing diagonally left-to-righ to the surfer, and a gentle curve doing the same from the right side.

This is a quick change from the file on the web, which is a little clipped in the highlights, the original wasn't. I will change the original photoshop image after a few days of reflection (pun intended) Instead of darkening the rock I desaturated it a bit and I am know happy. I don't like the now left handed surfer and will flip him back even if I keep the image flipped.

Good composition, but I agree with Slobodan. The lightened up foreground is too overexposed and it doesn't look natural. The image strong enough with highlighting the rocks.
