Title: Polar Bear Reflections

Just back from two months in the Arctic. Had some amazing experiences with Polar Bears on the pack ice.. lots of images to sort and edit.

This one the first from a new series. Shot with Canons new 200-400 with inbuilt 1.4TC on 1DX.

Just breathtaking.  I shoot nature and wildlife and would dream of such a trip and opportunity.  Your photo is simply perfect.

Realizing this is not the purpose of this thread, perhaps you will permit me a question

I am assuming the camera is 1DX (didn't know that "X" model was out but I'm guessing ) and 200-400 is a zoom lens?

I use the f 2.8 300mm lens (link below) and wonder if I can ask why you chose a zoom with in built TC?  Do you want the flexibility?  I have 2 extenders (one 1.4 TC and one 2.0 TC) and will flip those on but acknowledge that light can be a challenge and yes, it means sometimes missing a shot.

Anyway, it's lovely and while the artic expedition seems pretty remote for me, I'm in Ontario, so perhaps I can go to Churchill Manitoba instead and get a shot that might not be as good, but still interesting.

Yes - was shot with the Canon 1DX and 200-400. This lens offers a lot of flexibility for wildlife IMO.

Yes, well after I posted I checked here in Canada because I was curious to see if it was something I could add and then I saw the price.  Its one heck of a lens.  And it has produced a great shot.  I love the Canon lenses.
